India has a long history of our own systems of medicine and most of this knowledge is not clearly recorded. General well being of human beings finds prominence in Ayurvedic treatment. Allopathic Medicine has proven specific treatment for diseases like cancer. Convergence of both the streams scientifically would equip patients to receive treatments and recover faster.
Our vision is to have interaction with researchers from across the globe sharing their experiences and participating in research programmes. Medical conferences, seminars and workshops would be arranged on a regular basis to enhance our knowledge base.
No institution can grow in isolation. It is only byinteraction with other institutions of higher learning, research can widen its scope and can fulfil the objectives.
Sisodia is already into extensive research activities to integrate Ayurvedic and modem systems of medicine in collaboration with Nagarjuna Herbal Concentrates Ltd having a strong background in Ayurvedic research.
Thrust area on medical research is free radical scavenging activity of certain plants widely used in Ayurveda. Drawbacks in synthetic anti oxidants and their side effects have lead to further studies on plant derived active constituents. Standardization of raw materials is another area of interest. Conservation of medicinal plants is a continuing activity.
